Personality:
Deidara has a very limited patience, and becomes angered and annoyed very easily.
He has a love for art, and expresses an appreciation for all forms of it. Deidara believes that art is something that should appear and depart quickly - which is reflected in his fighting style: The use of clay to create exploding objects. Although this is his personal belief, he will respect the opinions of others - his partner, Sasori, for example, who believes the exact opposite of him.
Deidara is somewhat of an arsonist, enjoying to blow things up with his own, unique technique. After leaving his village, he became an assassin and a terrorist for hire, simply to find a reason to create art.
Deidara also has a habit of finishing most of his sentences with odd grunts.

History:
Deidara was originally a shinobi from Iwagakure, however, the people ridiculed him for expressing his art in an explosive manner, and so he willing left.
Deidara then became an assassin for hire, simply to find a reason for using his art.
After some time, Deidara had made quite a name for himself as an S-Class criminal. This drew the attention of the infamous organization, Akatsuki. Pein, the leader of the organization, sent out Hoshigaki, Kisame and Sasori to recruit Deidara. He was unwilling at first, but after much dispute, Deidara finally agrred. He joined Akatsuki and became the partner of Sasori.

Roleplay Sample:

Deidara walked through the forest, beside his partner, Sasori. Deidara opened his palms, and released a small bird, made of clay, into the air. He watched and smiled, as it flew around him care-free. Suddenly, something in Sasori snapped "Would you quit messin' around with that stupid crap?!"
Deidara flicked his head to the side, immediately annoyed by this statement. "Hey!" He growled "I don't call your art crap, Ugn!" He turned his head back to the bird that was flying around in front of him, rather annoyed at Sasori now.
"Well that's 'cos my art ain't crap, unlike yours" The arkward-looking figure said, turning his masked face up to stare at the clay bird.
Deidara once again flicked his head to the side, and stared down at Sasori. "What the fuck is with you today, man? Ugn!"
Sasori only grumbled, and turned his gaze to where they were headed. Deidara suddenly realised he didn't exactly know where they were headed. He had just been following Sasori.. and he knew how Sasori hated to be late. Which, by the seems of things, he clearly was. Deidara only sighed, and flicked his right hand into the air. As he did this, the bird flew upwards into the darkness of the trees. Seconds later, a large explosions occurred, sending leaves falling down over the two. Sasori only grumbled some more, and quickened his pace - moving slightly forward ahead of Deidara.
Deidara smirked, and took in the beauty that his art had created - a shower of various coloured leaves. He smiled to himself, just knowing how much he annoyed Sasori with his art. Something Sasori would never learn to appreciate.
